Multan Places

Multan is a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It is Pakistan’s fifth largest city by population and has an area of 133 square kilometres (51 sq mi). The city is located on the banks of the Chenab River in the geographic center of the country.Multan is known as the City of Sufis or City of Saints and Madinat-ul-Auliya because of the large number of shrines and Sufi saints from the city.Following are some places of Multan.

1. Shah Rukn-e-Alam (Mausoleum), Multan 

Shah Rukn-e-Alam mausoleum was located on Southwest Side of the Fort Premise, Multan, Pakistan. It’s a glory of Multan city. There building is 51 feet 9 inches in diameter internally, there wall are about 41 feet higher and 13 feet thicker. He was a grandson of famous sufi saint Shaikh Baha-Ud-Din Zakariya. Tomb of Shah Rukn-e-Alam was constructed between 1320 and 1324, more than 100,000 people visit Shah Rukn-e-Alam tomb from all over Aisa and commemorate his memory.

2. Shah Shams Tabrez (Mausoleum), Multan

Shah Shams-ud-Din mausoleum was located on Baba Safra Road and on half mile to the east of the Fort site near Aam-Khas Garden, Multan, Pakistan. He was belongs to Imam Jaffer sadiq family and also known as Shah Shams Sabzwari or Shah Shams Tabrez. He was born in 1165 and died in 1276. His tomb was built in 1330 by his grandson. Shah Shams-ud-Din tomb was 39 feet higher and constructed with ornamental glazed tiles.

3. Shah Shams Park, Multan 

Shah Shams Park is located on Eidgah Road near Tomb of Shah Shams, Multan, Pakistan. It’s a beautiful park created on the named of famous sufi saint Shah Shams Tabrez. Shah Shams Park is having lots of attractions, flowers, fountains, green courts and much more. They also have a playing area having small lake and different rides for children’s and all family members.

4. Jinnah Park, Multan

Jinnah Park is located on New Multan Road in Shah Rukn-e-Alam Colony Block E, Multan Pakistan. It’s a beautiful park having great flowers, tree and green atmosphere. Jinnah Park also provides number of attractions, rides and food courts. Many people daily visit this park with their families to enjoy and relaxation.

5. Haram Gate, Multan

Haram Gate is located on Akbar Road near Masjid Hafiz Luqman Wali, Multan, Pakistan. This gate is said as a Haram Gate because many people say it has a Haram or Women quarter of the Saint Musa Pak Shaheed. There are total six gates in Multan and four in fort of Multan, Haram Gate is also one of old gates present in proper form in Multan city.

6. Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower house), Multan 

Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) is held on beautiful building which was constructed by British rulers before 1947. The building is situated on Municipal Corporation Multan’s Offices. Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) is recently reconstructed in its original form and shape, this beautiful landmark is located on most busy area of Multan business district.

7. Shahi Eid Gah Mosque, Multan

Shahi Eidgah Mosque (Masjid) is situated on Multan and Lahore Highway in the Northeast of the Multan City, Pakistan. It’s a grand mosque of Multan built in 1735 AD by governor of Multan Nawab Abdul Samad Khan. Its gives huge space for prayer it’s almost 250 feet by 54, there floors are created with glazes blue titles with great architectural designs. Many people daily perform their Salat (Namaz) 5 times a day and mosque is full of people on Friday.

8. Dehli Gate, Multan

This Gate is named “Dehli Gate” because there face is towards Dehli-India and there road leads towards Dehli. It’s created in Mughal Period for king and their state guest whenever they come to Multan they pass through this gate. Now Dehli Gate has a market and stalls.

8.PAK GATE, Multan  

Pak Gate is located on Sarafa Bazar Road near Agha Khan Health Center, Multan, Pakistan. It’s named was not on Pakistan, but it’s beause of famous saint Hazarat Musa Pak Shaheed. First he was buried in Uch Shareed near his father in 1010H, but after sometime his son saw his grandfather in dream saying to get Musa out from his foot side. He was buried again in other place but after 15 years his son saw another dream to bring Musa Pak Shaheed back to Multan. Now there Mazar (Shrine) is still situated in Multan 300 feet inside Pak Gate, many of his follower daily visit there Mazar (Shrine) for fatiha.

9. Baha-ud-din Zakariya (Mausoleum), Multan 


Baha-ud-din Zakariya was a famous sufi his mausoleum is located on Kohna Qasim Bagh Road near Hajj Complex, Multan Pakistan. He was born around 1170 at Kot Kehror, in Layyah District near Multan. He was a grandfather of Shah Rukn-e-Alam, his full name was Al-Sheikh Al-Kabir Sheikh-ul-Islam Baha-ud-Din Abu Muhammad Zakaria Al-Qureshi Al-Asadi Al Hashmi. He is also known as Ghaus Baha-ul-Haq, he settled in Multan around 1222 and died in 1267. Baha-ud-din Zakariya mausoleum is 51ft 9inch higher internally. Many people come to this historical place daily for fatiha.

10. Multan Arts Council, Multan  


Multan Arts Council is located on MDA Road near National Book Foundation, Multan, Pakistan. It’s founded in 1975 under the statutory provisions of the Punjab Council of Arts. Multan Arts Council is famous for musical shows, arts exhibitions or as a regional centre of Multan city. The Punjab Council of Arts organized many exhibitions all year, its recently organized Chinese calendar exhibition and Islamic arts & paintings competition of famous Pakistani artists. Multan Arts Council is also playing an important role for encouraging students towards arts and culture of Multan.

11. Multan Fort (Bab-ul-Qasim), Multan

Multan Fort is located in Center of City near to Multan Cricket Club next to Shah Rukn-e-Alam’s Mazar, Multan, Pakistan. It was built in 17th century it divided city, there is no fort now as it was destroyed by British but entire place is known as fort. Multan Fort was created by Murad Baksh son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. This fort now looks as a part of Multan City it separated by a road which looks more like bazar (market) and always looks crowded all day.
